- Is there a business license required from the City? No
- Who provides my utilities? Electric, water, sanitary sewer, and storm water utility are provided by the City of Thief River Falls. Utility Billing Office 218-681-4145
- Who provides my sanitation service for a commercial business? Les's Sanitation 218-681-7312

- Do I need a building permit? Most, if not all improvements require a building permit. Contact the Building Official at 218-681-8506 or [email protected]
- How is my street & sidewalk snow removal handled? Contact the Public Works department at 218-681-8506
- Can I have merchandise on my sidewalk? Yes, in most cases in the central business district on municipal streets with a sidewalk use permit. Contact the Public Works Department at 218-681-8506.
- Are there any parking restrictions? Yes, contact the Police Department at 218-681-6161 or review calendar parking & winter snow removal.
- Is there any financial assistance available? Yes, storefront & energy loans. Contact the City Administrator at 218-681-2943
- What if I have fire code questions? Contact the Fire Department at 218-681-3943.
