About The Men and Women
of The Thief River Falls
Police Department

The  men and women of the Thief River Falls Police Department are proud to deliver  police services to  our community.  We are committed to serve our community.  Our  department continually strives to work together with our citizens to create a safe environment to live , work, and study in Northern Minnesota.

The Thief River Falls Police Department is a community oriented police organization comprised of sixteen licensed police officers and two civilian employees. We provide  around the clock services in the city of Thief River Falls.

Our Law Enforcement Center is located at 102 West First Street or at the corner of First Street and Main Avenue, downtown Thief River Falls.  The Law Enforcement Center houses the Thief River Falls Police Department, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Department and local branch of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension  Agent’s Office.

We are very, very proud of our fine patrol force, the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), the G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) programs in the schools, our Bike Patrol, the Crime Alert  Network, the Community Police Advisory Committee, and the popular Block Parties.

In this time of ongoing budget cuts we remain committed to innovating our policies and procedures to assist our community in policing itself. We know that by working together we create a dramatically stronger community.

I welcome you to contact me or any of my staff with questions, thoughts, or your ideas on how to better serve you!  Your input helps to make our Police Department more dynamic and responsive to the unique needs  of  Thief River Falls.
