Community Development Department
Purpose:
The Community Development
Division is responsible for the initiation
and administration of community and
economic development activities for the
enforcement, development and
administration of codes, ordinances,
regulations and statutes related to City
planning, land subdivision, zoning and
buildings.
Functions:
-
Initiates and
administers a variety of programs,
including the Community Development
Revolving Loan Fund, which promote
community development and stimulate the
local economy.

Plans, directs,
organizes, coordinates, enforces and
administers city planning, zoning and
land subdivision as provided for in the
City Code.

Administers the
Rocksbury Township, Pennington County,
City of Thief River Falls Joint
Two-Mile Zoning Ordinance.

Reviews plans and
specifications for all buildings and
issues building permits.
